A Little Bit About Moi
Why I Write
I have thoughts on everything. Literally everything under the sun and probably the moon too.. Unfortunately, for most of my life these thoughts and ideas would just be trapped inside my head only to be used as quick zingers and doomed to be forgotten eventually-usually because I would need that space in my head when I began mugging like one dog for exams. It was only when I got into debating that I realised my folly. The thoughts in my head were usually just snippets of insights-the tip of the iceberg and I had never really bothered to probe further. Something which certainly intrigued me. I got out my standard issue notebook, began penning down my thoughts and following the trail of ideas as I explored new concepts. Finally, I took a step back only to realise how superficial my initial thoughts were and realised the value of writing down my thoughts on issues.

Yes,I really did just refer to myself as a superhero
You know what they say, find what you can do well and ... I cannot remember the rest. Oh well.
You know why I write. But why this?
There is nothing that I love more than meeting and speaking to people. From the most inane things to complex political issues, conversing with people is always fun for me because I believe that every individual is distinct. This leads people to have unique perspectives when they look at the world that I sometimes might not ever have considered. This often causes me to re-evaluate my own position simply because I had not considered the angle presented, allowing me to adapt and take a stronger and more nuanced position. It is this attitude that I believe democracy and a prosperous society will be founded upon.
Hence, it pains me to see people these days refuse to reconsider their viewpoint when faced with valid opposition. The idea of debating and fighting tooth and nail to prove your beliefs are universally superior while the other is foolhardy is hardly a way to go forward. We will just become more determined to one-up each other rather than to improve our own.Worse still, most of the time its not even their own beliefs that they are defending but something that someone or an organisation they trust said and automatically to them it becomes the truth that has to be protected and uplifted.
My purpose of doing this is to hopefully shatter the illusion that there is only one side that is correct. When it comes to tackling most problems, there is your way, that guy's way and the best way.We want to improve as a species?Lets look for the best way, together.
